I can hear helicopters..... help!

Not quite Helicopters, but I can hear my Graphics card fan in my sound. Be it throught speakers or headphones, I can hear my graphics all the time. Speakers are worse for it as they are good quality and play every sound they have as input. The headphones generally drown out most of the noise but I can still hear it.

Also if I am using a browser and use my mouse wheel to scroll up/down, I get a high pitch noise for the duration of the scrolling.

Does anyone know why this is happening and any soft mod to rid me of it?

i had a similar problem with my laptop. It was because i had a usb mouse that was interfering with my speakers/headphones. if you do have a usb mouse try changing slots or convert it to PS/2

the first thing that came to my mind was. is your video card next to your soundcard? if it is try switching PCI slots to get it farther away.

In reply to both,

1) Mine is a USB mouse, but using adaptor to ps/2
2) My mobo leaves me no option to seperate the 2 cards.

I assume im stuck?

Can you just try using the USB for the mouse? See what that does. It is most likely the transfer frequency that is interfering with your sound.

Could you reinstall your sound card drivers?

Again in reply to both

1) I could try using the USB instead of the adaptor, but that wont be helping the fan sound which has speed directly in relation to my framerate.

2) This is just after a fresh install of CPU/Mobo and obviously a format and everything that is on there now is freshly installed.

Hmmmmm, just gonna try the ps2/usb but unless there is some setting that I can change I think this is lost cause because of a crappy mobo

I'm lost, are you hearing the noise of your fan over your speakers or is the vibration in your case from the GPU fan causing your speakers to play sounds you don't want them to?

The solution to both could be an aftermarket heatsink, I'm pretty sure the Zalman VF900cu is a single slot cooler and is only like $30 these day's, its nearly silent and won't vibrate much at all, try it out.
