What route should I go?

Thread Starter
I was going to wait for the gtx 770 and upgrade to that from my 560ti. Unfortunately for me, it doesn't' seem like Nvidia is coming out with the 770 anytime soon. I got (Three) 23.6 inch monitors last year and I've been waiting to be able to play 5760x1080 games.

I'm thinking my best option is to go with another 560ti until a new card is released, what do you think?

What kind of games and what are acceptable frame rates? What's your budget? tongue.gif

EDIT: GTX 560ti can't do 3 monitors proof.gif

I know there is a great limitation playing at that resolution with 1gb of VRAM and thus won't play most of my games at that resolution. I'd rather play them maxed on 1 monitor. As for acceptable frame rates, 30 minimum for playing single player with 40s avg would be acceptable. Higher would be nice how ever. Multiplayer needs to be above 40 all the time. (60 is always better of course.) Not sure I'd even use triple screens for multiplayer, I'll have to see when I get it working.

Recently, I've been playing a lot of COH, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, L4D2, CS:GO, BL2, I'll try some racing games as well, Blur, Dirt 3, Grid, Trackmania etc...

The main reason I'm considering the 560ti is because I can get it for ~$150 vs. a 670 at ~$400.Should I just get the 560ti and wait out for the new cards to come out?

I know. frown.gif It's why I'm looking at maybe getting another 560ti.

My suggestion would to be save up and when the GTX 7xx series comes along (or when you're ready) grab a GTX 670 or 680 for a reasonable price, unless you're okay with spending ~$500 on a GPU, in that case buy the GTX 780 when it hits the shelves thumb.gif.

GTX 560ti SLI won't hold you long enough and I think you'd end up replacing it quicker than you expect. Plus, one-card setups are always better than dealing with SLI.

Thanks for the suggestion! I just remembered my friend has a 560ti in his computer and I'm going to get him to bring it over to test the performance in sli. If it's acceptable for me, then I think I'll stick with getting a 2nd 560ti for now. I don't want to wait any longer for triple screen gaming even if only on a couple games. biggrin.gif

Edit:
Also, 2 560tis should have better performance than a 670 with games that don't require over 1gb of video ram.

I was able to try Two 560ti's and to say the least it didn't go so well. BSODed multiple times and ram out of vram in the menus of the games....

I really don't want to, but this deal is temping me from Amazon. At least to hold me over until a 770 comes out or maybe after depending on performance, but my only issue being..., how much could I resale the card for if I needed to?

The 7950 seems to get 670 performance for a lot cheaper.
