Can't change voltage: Visiontek 6970

I have installed MSI Afterburner and unlocked voltage control in settings. The voltage slider is activated and lets you set a different voltage. BUT when I check to see if the voltage is actually changing in Open Hardware Monitor, it says it's at the stock 1.175V. I'm kinda baffled here, as overclocking video cards is generally pretty easy.

Anyone?

what does afterburner say? it has a voltage monitor as well.

general hardware monitors tend to read the voltages from ADL.

When you change the voltage with trixx/AB/GPUTweak it doesnt update ADL, so it will still always read stock.

I will check that. Thing is, when I bumped up the voltage in afterburner I couldn't get the clocks up any higher than what was already stable without a voltage bump.

change VDDC_CHL8228_VIDReadback = 0 to =1 in VEN_xxxxxx.cfg or it will give you measured. the =1 will force it to report target instead.

Thank you very much! I turned on the voltage monitor in afterburner, set the voltage to 1.24 and presto! The voltage went up. I am now running at 950/1450 stable. Didn't want to push any further because I was dying to play some Far Cry 3.

Thanks again for the response, I figured it was something silly.
