anyone here have any asus rma experience? - UPDATE 5/2/13 - Page 3

good luck with your RMA with them. I had to RMA my motherboard with them about 2 months ago.

1st RMA = sent me back my repaired board damaged
2nd RMA = sent me a replacement board damaged
3rd RMA = sent me another replacement board damaged
4th RMA...

well here, just take a look for yourself....it's lengthy, but definitely a read.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1360238/another-bad-asus-rma-update-03-12-13-nib-motherboard-recieved

It took me a month and a half and 4 swaps to finally get a good board.

Did you pay shipping every time or did you get them to pay?

I just want my computer back to normal. Why they even sent it back to me with the same issue blows my mind. All they are doing is wasting their own time and money. Do it right the first time and I wouldn't have to bother them again..
when I received my original board back damaged I made sure and told them I wanted a prepaid shipping label because I was not going to spend another $20 to ship the board back because it was their fault. So I only paid the original $20 or so, everything there after was covered by Asus.

I've gone through 4 (the 5th is in the mail back to me) of my KGPE-D16 workstation boards, they all reboot randomly, then no video is ever posted again, send an RMA request, and they pay shipping there and back ever since I paid for the first...

However, It was a bloody nightmare, they kept hanging up on me, sending faulty boards, and recently, I got a board back with the exact same serial number I had before (as board #2)

I sent a completely dead 670 and got a new replacement. Only downside is it took a month, but I imagine that's probably because they tried for quite some time to get my old card working again. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Yeah if you thought my experience so far has been bad, read the thread that mwl5apv posted! It looks like sending faulty units back in ASUS RMA's might be common... I have also read stories where ppl receive repairs/replacements that are physically damaged by the RMA department, but ASUS claims it was not from them and now the warranty on the unit is void. So also take A LOT of pictures or even a video when you open up your unit, just to be on the safe side.

From me obsessively looking around at forums, it seems that in the end the user gets a working replacement (unless its one of their laptops, it seems that's a whole different story). It just sucks how long it takes and the entire process is seems kind of disrespectful. I guess just be glad you aren't RMA'ing a motherboard...

It seems from my experience and from everything that I have read on the topic of Asus RMA's(when it comes to computer hardware) the most problems occur with their higher end ROG products(whether it be motherbaord or gpu's). Which is what is confusing, typically one would think the higher end products would recieve better servicing, But it seems it's the other way around.

yup asus rma is hit or miss and most often it's a Miss..

My DCII 7970 is in for RMA.

sent the card in for a bad dual link dvi port got it back about 2 weeks later and still had the same exact issue.

Packed the card up and shipped it back with a label from asus.. supposedly it went to someone higher up, but we will see how that went. Its due to be back in my hands next week and only time will tell if i'm sending it back in..

Another note i like how they demand you pack the box a certain way, but when they send the product back to you it's almost like they find some random box some peanuts and if your lucky there was some bubble wrap laying on the floor so the tech didnt have to walk and find something else. sigh annoyed

THIS! I packed the hell out of mine. No movement, surrounded in foam/peanuts/bubble wrap. It came back to me lose in the box. Had a box in a box, barely any peanuts and a piece of bubble wrap. Surprised when it came back that it actually worked because it had so much movement.

all the boards I got back were the same. the first was wrapped in bubble wrap and in a box. Second was a a box inside a box with a few packing peanuts around it( the inner box slid from end to end loosely), third board was the same as the 2nd. And the final "NIB" motherboard was the standard CrosshairV Formula retail box inside another larger shipping box with nothing but some brown paper around it(it was still loose enough to slide in every which way)
