Clockgen Applied at startup = video error Help!

I overclock my A64 1.8Ghz to 2.2Ghz using clockgen. Everything works fine no stability issues. However, when i enable the "apply current setting at start up" in clockgen i start having weird problem. When i cold boot the pc i get the error "no video input" from my LCD. I got to off n power on again then i can get display. When i disable the "apply current setting at start up" in clockgen i have no such problem. Anyone has an explanation\\solution to this??? thanks.

Overclocking with programs such as clockgen is known to cause instability on systems. It is much better to overclock in the BIOS. Check out the Ultimate Overclocking Guide to get started in the BIOS!

I edited your thread title so it might get more responses

The best thing to do is to try and apply the settings that work in clockgen via your bios (if you can). Is CoolnQuiet turned off in bios?

Thanks. Yes, cool n quiet has been turn off. I can't go far if overclock thru the Bios. I thought the oveclocking setting only takes effect when the clockgen is loaded in WInXp when the PC starts. But initial turn on i start to get no video input error. I really cannot understand why....

dude... you say you cant go that far using the bios... well i know for a fact you can

i got a 37% overclock with this board, and i run that speed 24/7

on a side note, what bios version are you using?

Hmm, you say a no video error at startup...but does it get into windows with the Clockgen settings? Or does it fail to boot when you attempt to start up with clockgen settings overclocked?

You're running the latest bios. Maybe try and implement the clockgen settings into your bios, might clear it up.

Thru the bios i cant get past 212mhz. I have tried everything like relaxing memory timing, HTT @ 2x\\3x\\4x, memory divider 1\\1.5, 1\\1.6 increasing voltage for the HTT, memory, Cpu vcore. I guess my 2 x DDR400 512mb of memory are crap....
