Group/collaberative learning? Anyone interested?

Thread Starter
I find learning any new material is most effective in (small) groups. Mostly for accountability, peer review/discussions, help. I don't really know anyone personally that is interested in learning so was wondering if there was a thread like this where we can find like-minded individuals and start together (NOT cheating, which seems pointless for MOOC's anyways since you either know the language or you don't).

Not sure on the best method of communication (chat, google groups, skype, etc) but guess that can depend on how many people join in/preferred methods/time zones? If we get an OCN group, we can have users get together to learn together....

And submit with a template like this:

Interested in Learning: Python, Java, Selenium, R, SQL, Scala, HTML
When: ASAP using Codecademy, Khan Academy, Udacity, and Crafting Quality Code class on Coursera (5 weeks, 03/25/13), Functional Programming Principles in Scala (7 weeks, starts 03/25/13)
Experience: High school, minimal
Method: MOOC's/Codecademy/Udacity/Khan Academy
Location: US-Eastern Standard Time
Preferred communication: Skype IM/voice chat (if necessary)

I'm down. I am a senior in hs and going to NYU or Cal poly for computer science next year. Heavy experience in JavaScript, HTML5 canvas, PHP, mySQL, CSS and some light experience in python, java, c++, vb, and some other languages. Shoot me a pm!

I'm down for all of the above material. I have been a heavy PC user for years and have wanted to start programming. Shoot me a pm or we can communicate through this post.

Not sure if going back to school is worth it (if it's expensive), there are a few bootcamps out there that if you're cut out for it you can get a job right away , but the cost of the classes are 12k and it's quite intensive (which should prepare you for the work). That said if you have 0 idea of what you're doing before you're going in, it'll be much more difficult.
