Went from Droid Charge to the iPhone 5 - Page 3

I see no reason why his post count is relevant?

That's been proven by studies by very reputable researching companies. Can't really argue otherwise. iOS apps truthfully do crash more often. They just don't notify you when they do so you don't notice it.

First of all I'm basing this thread on my experiences and that's about it. And with that being said my Droid sucked. I went through 2 of them during my contract time. Th droid crashed all the time and a lot more then this iPhone 5 I have now. I'm very happy with my iPhone 5. It works for me and that's all that really matters.

just upgraded my HTC Sensation (2years) to a iPhone 5. Its only been a few days but I am really liking the iPhone 5, is simple to use like others have already mentioned and its smaller than my last phone which I also like. I don't do apps really, perhaps data monitoring and task killer but no games or facebook. I make calls, check my mail and surf the web while at work. The iPhone does all these thing beautifully.

I liked my android when I first got it because of its large screen. It was a dual core phone but it was still slow/hang and crashed constantly. Battery life shortened a lot since purchase (expected) but worst was voice quality was only so so. Apps were easy to find and cords and such were all standard and interchangeable to other devices I own... cut down on accessory purchases for each unit. I did go into the android phone thinking I would use everything it had to offer but it just never happened, to much to learn.. trial error.. yawn... bored with it.

So far I like the music player and that voice assistant thingy. Finally a voice command that just works. I seen the commercials on tv of the voice command abilitys but until you've used it yourself ..... its just amazing to use and funny as all heck. The screen is nice but so was my android screen. The pics it takes seems fine but its all crap compared to my DSLR so that is irrelevant to me. One thing I notice is that android was better in screen contact and understanding my swipes. My apple phone seems to have areas of the screen which seem less responsive and at times my apple phone will just do something crazy which leaves me scratching my head.....

I am really glad I have this phone. I will keep it

There is literally no difference between Android and iOS interfaces. They are functionally identical. Saying iOS is "easier to use" is an absolutely ridiculous argument.

I see several huge differences.

Android has an app drawer

Widgets

more customizing options.

Apple doesn't have a lot of that stuff, and because of it is seen as easier to use.

BTW Op, the droid charge was an absolute pile of crap and can in no way be a good representation of a GOOD android phone compared to an iPhone (in my opinion)

But my point is the Samsung Droid is crap but it still represents the Droid family. And yes this iPhone 5 kicks it's butt! I'm sure if I got myself the GS3 I'd be happy with that. And the main selling point was the FaceTime that Apple has so I can have conversations with my daughter as she has an iPhone to!

Besides it's just a phone! smile.gif

You're for sure not the first one I've heard doing this, going from an Android phone to the iPhone 5 and has been happy with it. One of my friends, who's had an Android phone since the early days and has been promoting it for years (even got his girlfriend hooked on it and has made her into a kind of Android Fangirl), all of a sudden went out and bought an iPhone 5 not long after it came out. Found that quite odd far and as far as I'm aware, he's been very happy with it.

My first phone was a Samsung Blackjack and that just all of a sudden vanished when I was out with my grandma one day. Still to this day have no idea where it ended up. Went all summer 2008 without a phone (gasp!) then just before school started, I was given my dad's hand-me-down original iPhone. Since then, I've owned an iPhone 4 and when my 2-yr was up in June last year, upgraded to the iPhone 5 when it was released. Been very happy with everything and couldn't imagine switching to another OS, mainly because of about $100 worth of apps, ranging from games to apps I use for work and school.

Looking very forward to iOS 7 when it's announced in June. Suppose to be bringing some UI changes, mainly getting rid of the skeumorphisms that Forstall brought in, as already seen in the recently updated Podcast app that previously had a virtual reel-to-reel animation on it that was completely useless. Pretty much using that as basis on how this update is going to look. Was very happy that Jony Ive was given the job of Human Interfaces, so not only will the hardware look great, the UI will match as well!

Hyperbole much? In both cases, you click on clearly labeled square icons and they open up apps. If you can't figure out that the "apps" drawer contains the rest of your apps, you've got bigger problems.

I moved from a Droid 2 to an iPhone 4 and have to say I loved my iPhone for a couple months. Eventually I started missing my Droid phone mainly because you can't do even half the customizations on the iPhone that I could on my Droid. My home screen will never look as good on an iPhone as it did on my old Droid. As for the performance, I haven't noticed much of a difference, both phones closed apps on their own almost equally. Whether or not this would still happen if I had an Android phone I can't say due to software updates, etc.

My contract with verizon ends soon and I'll most likely be moving to T-Mobile and picking up a Nexus 4. I'm hoping to see a world of difference due to true multitasking ability.

Apple = room full of people sitting listening to violin all in their dedicated spots and lala land. Ofcourse it will work nothing much is happening.
Android=room full of party people all over the place, sure things might get broken from time to time but everyone is having fun.
