Remember when Origin was starting? I got called a Valve fanboy a few times despite mentioning Steam is horrible, but better than nothing often.

doh.gif

Liars calling people liars.

Oh internet:rolleyes:

So you don't get immediately kicked, where in that statement does it say that they retracted the statement about the reason for the servers. I never see anywhere, in any of your interesting posts, that it has any representative saying that the servers do not in fact make calculations. They could be implying that the game can run well enough for 20 minutes, any longer and you cannot continue to play because the servers are required for those calculations. That is how I would read that statement, because they still haven't retracted the previous statement defining why the servers are required.

Wording is crucial, you've yet to show me a statement that says anything about them taking back the previous definitions of why things were required. AKA your basically spouting the same crap, trying to imply that they have said the game does not need the servers to run. In fact, I'm sure if they would have been asked after that they still would say the same crap. Nobody asked, they never made a new statement. The old statement stands, that's how things go.

You don't like this, that's cool then stay out of topics you are going to lose. I can and will get legal about this, as I already proved. You think you can beat me in that? Prob not, because if you did you'd already have realized that they are required to either retract or make a new definition (essentially retracting, but not so). So either stop this stupid point, cause it isn't important at all. The layman does not care to read between the lines, they don't care to "interpret" what people say. By law, you don't have too . If they don't answer our questions up front we are in no obligation to go "fish around" for answers. This is by the people for the people, the people means us FYI..

im buying it, for one reason only.
if its this bad now, its GOTTA be better in the future.

plus i was really a fan of the guy on the kotaku article, whom's sims would rather take a dirt road than a paved avenue

im even gonna give it 42 thumbs up for creativity. cause not even the "creator" could make people that stupid.

Except the core of the game's design revolves around inter-city play. All inter-city play is handled by the servers... There is no legal case here, especially not with the kind of defense lawyers EA can afford. The part of the game that keeps working once you lose connection is only a fragment of the game. Self-sufficient cities stay small and poor in this game.

Oh no! Please, don't get legal on me bro! (really? is that supposed to be a threat or????)

lol.......why u mad tho?

I gave you a specific source from an extended preview/interview with gamespy from march 2012 that stated EA had said that the game would not immediately auto kick people due to server connection drop outs. Common sense would therefore denote that your currently played city does not sit in the cloud.

Lucy Bradshaw also stated the same thing in the Reddit AMA.

I've posted direct comments from Lucy Bradshaw prior to game launch that outlined exactly how the servers were implemented into the game, aka, regional data synchronisation, game saves and a SPECIFIC statement that directly asserts that data is collected about the region and sent to the city "on your pc" in her own words. On your pc.

I also said that Maxis have always maintained that the game was intended to be an online experience and played connected with other people. You won't find any evidence to the contrary.

You can make a private region, but that's just the same as making a private server. You can still invite people. Its not a single player server. Its just not an open server.

What exactly do they need to retract? I never asserted they retracted anything. My whole point was that everything that is supposedly "new news" from a super secret "insider" is up to 12 months old news that was already released by Maxis themselves.

You bother to read my post of how I managed to play the game offline for a few hours without anything breaking, or are you just ignoring it?

Are you ignoring the fact that the post you just quoted contains text regarding me giving sources FROM MAXIS (twelve months ago) that the game was DESIGNED to be able to be played during server disconnection periods without immediate auto kicking, or are you just ignoring it?

Oh I read it, with most disconnections you get to 20 minutes and it kicks you, not 5 hours.

The only solution to this is to vote with our wallets. I'm not buying EA stuff anymore. If you're seriously unhappy with the company's practices, you should do the same. Whinging won't get anyone anywhere.

Same story with everyone moaning about microtransactions: They rage on these forums, then immediately buy their character enough Horse Armour to fill the Sistine Chapel the moment the programme is implemented. Money talks, and if the EA top brass don't listen to direct methods of communication, I somehow doubt they are here lurking through 17 pages of arguments to learn the error of their ways.

Your anecdotal evidence would be as relevant as you'd like it to be if it wasn't purely singular anecdotal evidence that in your own admittance manages to not follow the trend of what basically everybody else who has commented is experiencing.
