Ceton InfiniTV 4 Dead

Thread Starter
I received an InfiniTV 4, for Christmas and was not able to get it working. When I first installed it, the led's blinked as they should, but upon the first reboot, the card stopped working. I was unable to get it to work after that, so Ceton decided to send me a replacement card. I put it in the other day, and still no cigar. I went to my dad's store and popped it in one of his new HP windows 8 machines, and it started blinking first try. I have tried unplugging everything, resetting my cmos to all default settings, using only integrated graphics, while testing the card in all of my pcie slots and I still can't get it to do anything on this machine. Is there anything I might be missing here? Thanks for the help. I would also like to make a shout out for Ceton tech support - amazing service, as they were able to respond faster than I was most of the time, and processed the RMA almost immediately thumb.gif

Thanks in advance

Bad PCI-e slot maybe?

If you have another slot, try it in that one. Also, sounds strange, but make sure it is not only seated properly (sometimes capacitors like to sneak into your way without you realizing it) but also make sure no cabling is touching your card. Had that issue before which is why I mention it.

If you have something else you can test in that slot I would also recommend trying that too. Keep in mind you can use your PCI-e x16 slot for that card even though it is only an x1... if you just need to test the slot out.

Found my problem: the tuner does not like pcie gen 3. I have to disable gen 3 in the bios, which i wasn't able to on my rog board. Tuner now works on my mpower board.
