hi my name is billy and i have a hp pavillion dv2000 my ex wife has reset my password can some hepl me get a password so i can use my computer

im not sure all i can tell all i can tell you is that when i power up my laptop all it does is come up for password i cant even see the boot up screen i was told its a bios password

Do you know how to make a boot CD??

The hirens Boot CD has a few tools for fixing stuff like this.

If it is a BIOS password you probably can clear it by removing the keyboard and pulling out the little round battery you can see. Very few machines will put the password into the Read Only Memory that stays intact when the power is gone.

Just be sure to unplug it and remove the laptop's battery.

i tried to unplug the little battery and it still didnt take the password off soon as i turn it on and pwers up comes to the password before the boot up screen

Which battery, the laptop battery or the button-cell battery (usually) behind the keyboard?

Edit: "Little" probably meaning button-cell... how long did you leave it out for?

no i dont know how ive been reading up on it on here and i do believe it is a bio password cause it gives me a code when i enter wrong password three times

it was the button one under keybord unpugged it for a minute and it didnt remove the password i believe is the bio password

If so, next thing I would try is to leave the battery out for an hour. Just to be sure.
