Thinking of Upgrading but just not sure.

I am thinking of upgrading my CPU, Mobo, ram and moving to a solid state.

- CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50GHz
- Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V (Socket 1155)
- RAM: Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel
- SSD: OCZ Vertex 4

My current rig is below and plays everything I have currently thrown at it without any problems but i noticed that the Crysis 3 beta and far cry 3 were more or less maxing my CPU but I am saving for a mortgage and don't really have £650+ to spend on parts if i don't need to.

Ive probably come to the wrong place but overall how much better would my computer really be after spending this amount of money, do you think my GTX 580's will perform a huge amount better?

SSDs are the best, they are a great upgrade no matter what you go with.

Since you are saving for a house, I don't think it makes sense to go out of your way to upgrade when your system is performing fine now. With Haswell and the 700 GTX series coming later this year, I would wait for those and then make a decision.

Also, if at some point you upgrade and choose an Asus mobo, go with the ROG series not the P8Z77 series. I tried both with my 3770k and am happier with my ROG mobo.

Well, you have already formulated a very good plan.
And 3770K will be a very good speed bump from 940BE.

Appreciate the input guys looking at it there is no real difference in gaming performance when it comes down to i5 and i7 so I could even cut the cost dramatically and as you said Justanoldman I could go for a ROG mobo.

Or I could just wait for Haswell and see what the performance is like on them and the price as well.

More input is welcome though.
