i dont understand the concern of connecting >1 computer to a single monitor.... what is the point of multi input monitors then?

Again,

Pardon my ignorance about the subject. I simply thought the multi ports was for different ways to hook up a computer depending on the card you have. I never even contemplated that you could hook several puters up at the same time.

Definitely part of their intended use. I use to have one of my monitors hooked up to my AVR, my computer and the x360 at the same time and switched between all 3.

some multi input monitors can do picture-in-picture.. so you (dawg) could put a monitor in your monitor, so you can game while you trade or trade while you game biggrin.gifredface.gif

a little off topic, but is there a difference in quality between DVI and VGA??? that's the only 2 inputs on my monitors... and am curious

Just do a remote desktop connection. That is how I am running my server instead of using multiple keyboard/mice/monitors ...Just a suggestion.
