Can you give a GTX470 more than 1.212V?

So I flashed the BIOS already to "unlock" that voltage.

In Precision X I can give it 1.212V (and I did it to reach 900MHz)

But it was a max of 75°C in some games (not Heaven wink.gif)

So I figured I could get another 20°C higher, but when going over 900 it becomes unstable so need more Volt...

I do not want to solder a real volt mod (resistor stuff)

So can I flash it somehow higher?

My suggestion is to not use more than your 1.15v that you're already using. The VRMs on your card, which are probably air cooled just fine, won't be able to handle the heat and voltage past 1.15v and might just pop.
BTW, I had my gtx480 running 1.25v 24/7 for a few months under a FC-EK block and backplate. I still have the card, what a beast!

I think at that point, it's not about voltage, but temps. Even though you may be within a safe area, that doesn't meant that card will keep scaling with just more voltage. I never benched my 470's sub-zero but i did do a 570. It also had the same 1.212v limit. With water cooling it could bench around 950mhz. With Dry Ice it could do around 1100mhz. Both were run with the same voltage, but the lower temperature is what helped achieve the higher clocks. I was also never able to figure out how to get more voltage with out doing mods. Even on the 470's I couldn't figure out how, but I only ran those on water.

As mentioned, there is a BIOS block on the 470 that doesn't allow more than 1.2125V, even if AB does.

Mike is right... it's all about temperatures now. Obviously you'll need more volts to go over 1000 core and the like if you have the temperatures to go with it, but unless you're going subzero this won't be an issue. 1.2V should be plenty.
