SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 XT w/Boost - DISCONTINUED?!

Thread Starter
So i just purchased this card from New Egg - its actually scheduled to be delivered today.

I went to go check it out again on New Egg and noticed it said "Discontinued" - wasn't this just a recently released card?

What gives?

Newegg lists products that may "possibly" not be restocked again like that or they laser cut tahiti chips that probably weren't functional enough to run as a 79xx so they were locked and sold as the 7870 XT to get rid of them, limited production run.

There were some problems with Sapphire 7870 graphics cards. I read that Sapphire decided to end the production of this card. However this is not related to label discontinued at newegg, since it's the way they mark cards which are out of stock, and possibly won't be in stock in a while. Buying a Sapphire card from 7800 series wasn't a good decision though.

As for the issue:

This is not about 7870XT, which is a completely different card.

when i was looking to get my 7870 xt it was in stock than out than back in stock in 2 weeks time

dosent say discontinued its on auto notify

as far as the black screen thats not limited to saphire it was mainly the pitcam chips not the tahiti chips but hapions to all of them test ur card before u put new cooling on or void it in any way

this has happen to all cards amd and nvidia there was a bad batch of saphire pitcams going around n id avoid them n all pitcam chips for that matter but it can still happen to any card u buy
