Vlasov, enjoy the cards. I was going to sell them to the other guy but you bought them first. He was a bit upset. they were well taken care off. I had to sell a lot of parts recently since my wife said so. I had two Asus HD5850 DirectCu cards, ASus GTX SLI2500k, 3570k, 3770k ,f ew high end board etc. I am allowed to have only one computer.mad.gif

You should get your cards bu the end of this week.

Might need to cancel my order yet again! I've been reading some posts that are less than a month old that the version of the 7970 that I purchased (Gigabyte GV-R797OC-3GD is voltage locked) and cannot be fixed. frown.gif

Newegg is probably going to be upset that I've cancelled two orders in the same day.

As far as I know there are no more unlocked 7970s from any manufacturer. Keep the card you have on order as its better than anything nvidia has to offer. All their cards are voltage locked as well.

If you want the best 7970 or 7950, message and ask this guy which one to get:

raghu78

He knows which versions are voltage locked given his previous posts.

I just got the DIAMOND 7970PE53G a few weeks ago and it's unlocked. It does 1250/1800 1.2vgpu on room air and have benched 1350/1800 1.27v cold air. So far no coil whine.. the fan makes a fair bit of noise but I have a fan profile and use headphones so np there. Card has 5yr warranty too. Same deal over at Micro Center.. $399 after $20 MIR + 2 games.

If OP is willing to flash a modded vbios thats fine. However, my statement is still true. There is no such thing as a stock, unlocked 600 series nvidia card.

Newegg is probably going to be upset that I've cancelled two orders in the same day.

670 PE is your best bet. Should have just kept your original order and not let these guys sway you. Get what YOU want not what they want.

670 PE has an amazing cooler, overclocks very well and wont coil whine. As a 7970 owner i know all too well about coil whine.

Tigerdirect has it for 383

I might be biased but I agree
sub $350 => 7950 or 670
sub $400 => 7970 GHz

don't get the 680 unless you are going for the Lightnings....everything else isn't worth the $ IMO
