OK, I believe I have already mentioned this for you in your other thread. You should not expect a big performance increase going from your current 8150 to a 8350 and there is no reason to replace your current high end motherboard.

I recommend you get the best GPU your budgets allows for. With the $550 and other terms set by you in your initial post, that's a HD7950 or a GTX 660 TI.
Both cards are excellent choices and deliver a good bang for your buck.
Going for more expensive cards will give you lees performance per dollar, but you may keep a faster card for more than the single generation your current HD6950 has lasted you.

Thanks I did decide to keep my entire system and work on getting the noise down under control.

Future Purchases will be to grab the FX-8350, Closed loop CPU Cooler, or that Monster of a cooler the D14 forgot the model. THen grabbing an SSD, FX7950 maybe toward the end. biggrin.gif This tread can be closed since I learn that selling the entire system will be a lose than if I parted the system out and upgrade the areas I needed to upgrade. biggrin.gif

Just be carefull when you start on a quest for reducing system noise, every time you remove one source of noise another one pops up.

I recently changed the fans on my HD7850 to noctuas, my single case fan is Noctua, and I am looking at a pair of Noctua fans for my Hyper 212 because that is currently the noisy part of my system.

I would suggest looking into a Sapphire 7870 XT. It has a gimped Tahiti chip from the 79xx line of cards. I just bought one last night for ~$240 USD. Benchmarks show it staying with the 660ti in most tests. If you were to overlock it, you can close to 7950 performance. Tigerdirect is currently out of stock of them, but I bought mine from Amazon. This is just my suggestion for another option to save a couple bucks.

EDIT: Just read that you were going to keep the system and go for a 7950.

Go for 1866MHz+ RAM kit .
You can get 8GB 1866MHz for $60-$70.

The G.Skill Value kit suggested above is overspending for generic memory.... you can get performance-binned DDR3-1600 at CL9 for less price

WoW nice! I didn't know that so I added to my Amazon Prime account as a Wish List to grab it soon. =)

I would look at the FX 8320 and not the Fx 8350 if you already have not purchased. They are the same chip only difference is clock speed you could do a simple multi adjustment with no voltage change and match the speed

the 8320 is a fair bit cheaper and will free up some money for a better gpu
