According to coolingconfigurator, http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=652#DB_inline?height=260&width=530&inline_id=comp_table
my pcb is suppose to look like this

But mine looks like this...

Anyone know what's up with this?
I bought it from NCIX, and because I opened it up, I lose warranty, so I'm not sure if I can return it or anything.

There will always be multiple PCB revisions of the same card.

Why on earth would you return it because the PCB layout is not the same as some picture from some review?

It looks like they changed the power supply layout. As your can see both card have basically all the same parts in the power supply.

Sometimes engineers will move the parts around on the PCB to help reduce interference, crosstalk, ect. Switching power supplies create a lot of electrical noise, so that is probably what happened. It is nothing to worry about.

What is the problem?

Not compatible with waterblocks, that are suppose to be compatible with them..
I bought a waterblock that was suppose to be compatible with the xfx 7870 card, but lo and behold, it does not fit

Ahh! Makes sense.

hmmm....You can't return your 7870.

I would contact your water block's manufacturer and see if they are aware of the problem. Perhaps they are aware of it and will be releasing a new waterblock to solve this problem, or already have a existing product that will work.

Sorry my advise was probably useless.

Hola,

How can you find out if the PCB board is the first or newest revision? I have the serial number of the card which is NYH003361.

Can anyone help out? tongue.gif
