This is just a 60hz screen with 3D.

For other screens probably someone else should help you. Just heard good stuff about the asus 144hz.

If you want a great experience, try the samsung monitors. Nothing but a great experience for me, playing bf3 and crysis3 just feels right. Take a look even though it's out of your budget. ncix samsung

Almost all 120 Hz screens also do 3D.
Just buy them for the 120 Hz.
Also, 144 Hz also supports 120 Hz.

Your budget automatically means an ASUS VG248QE, 120Hz, 24 inch, which is available for $286 off Amazon or $299 off NewEgg. (at this time)
It is one of the cheaper 120 Hz monitors, but also one of the best gaming LCD's (low lag, 2D LightBoost tweak, etc.)
It supports 3D too, but you don't have to use 3D.

If you want better color, get a 60 Hz IPS in your price range though.
