Can I turn my laptop's traditional LCD into a touch screen LCD?

I do a lot of repairs on laptops. One of the repairs I do the most is replacing cracked/shattered LCD screens. So I do have a lot of experience in taking all types of laptops completely apart, installing new replacement parts and getting them back together. I have never ran into a problem with doing things like this.

My current laptop was given to me for free. It is a Lenovo Thinkpad T400 Type: 2767-AG3
Link for my laptop

I have upgraded to 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Windows 8 Pro x64. The main thing I am missing is a more powerfull GPU(Video Card) Would upgrading my CPU to something like the P9600, T9550, T9600 or the T9800 help to improve my FPS in games?
Future upgrades: Ultrabay Slim adapter for a 2nd HDD which installs where the optical drive is. I plan on getting at least a 2.5" 500GB-1000GB Seagate or Western Digital 7200RPM magnetic HDD. Then, if I need the optical drive, I can just remove the caddy with the HDD and reinsert the optical drive. I want to do this because I have installed a 128GB SSD in the standard HDD position for my boot drive of Windows 8. 128GB just isn't enough for me so I'm going to either go with the caddy to add a larger capacity HDD or maybe even an external high capacity HDD if I can find an express card adapter that allows me to hook up the external HDD via eSATA or USB 3.0.

You could possibility switch out the panel itself. Apparently there are these LCD add-ons that can turn the display into a touch.

I'm just posting to say that no, you shouldn't get any massive performance increase in games as you are essentially dealing with a very weak GPU which is not currently being bottlenecked by the CPU. You're looking at HD3470m performance essentially? There isn't much you can do with that.

Do you have any links to where I could purchase these LCD touchscreens that are compatible with my Lenovo T400 2761-AG-3 screen. I have found many of these but none of the ones I have found
