I hope anandtech is wrong. Other websites are saying that A7 cores @1.2GHz and A15 is @ 1.6GHz

http://www.itechpost.com/articles/6533/20130314/samsung-galaxy-s4-rumors-will-exynos-5-octa-processor-improve.htm
I think it's a mistype here. Anandtech did an article on the processor (here) where they stated:
Quote:
At CES this year Samsung introduced the oddly named Exynos 5 Octa SoC, one of the first Cortex A15 SoCs to implement ARM's big.LITTLE architecture. Widely expected to be used in the upcoming Galaxy S 4, the Exynos 5 Octa integrates 4 ARM Cortex A7 cores and 4 ARM Cortex A15 cores on a single 28nm LP HK+MG die made at Samsung's own foundry. As we later discovered, the Exynos 5 Octa abandons ARM's Mali GPU for Imagination's PowerVR SGX 544MP3, which should give it GPU performance somewhere between an iPad 3 and iPad 4.

The quad-core A7 can run at between 200MHz and 1.2GHz, while the quad-core A15 can run at a range of 200MHz to 1.8GHz. Each core can be power gated independently...While it's possible for you to use both in parallel, initial software implementations will likely just allow you to run on the A7 or A15 clusters and switch based on performance requirements.

I don't see the A7 cores clocking to 1.6GHz if they're only made to go up to 1.2GHz. It's far more likely that the A15 cores do as it is still less than their max frequency. I would love to know the max TDP of the entire chip. It would be interesting to be able to dock the phone and get all 8 cores working together.

I hate that Samsung always insists on including a physical home button.

I wish more phones used the onscreen, context-sensitive navigation buttons. It sort of just makes sense.

I agree with you on this as well. In the ROM I'm using on my S3, I have the Menu button to be the 'Recent Apps' switch, and a long depression of the Home button brings up Google Now.

Is it me or did the phone look a bit sluggish in Anand's video? Perhaps the touchwiz ui is showing its age?

or maybe its a beta version of GS4 touchwiz, it might get optimized before the release which could be 2-3 month away.

GS3 came out end of May last year, GS4 looks to be Q2 so late Q2 seem to be the best guess.
