New Rig

Thread Starter
Hello everyone, i'm new on the forums. I'd like to give you a setup i've made and i would like your advice.

Case: Coolermaster HAF XM
CPU: AMD FX-8350
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB
GPU: Asus GTX-660
SSD: Samsung 840 Series 120GB
PSU: Corsair CX750

And an Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste to tag along.

Is everything okay with my setup? Any reccomendations would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Good setup, and I am new as well, but I have a few changes you might want to make. I would go with the Intel i5 3570k over the 8350 (you will have to get a different motherboard obviously). The 8350 is supposedly an "eight core cpu" but it really has more like six cores, because each piledriver module is more like 1.5 cores, not two. It is still a good cpu, but I would go with the 3570k, which will perform better in most games, if that is what you are planning on using your rig for.

It's poorly optimized for gaming, as Herp mentioned. Intel chips are just a better deal for gaming (better per-core performance). If you're doing other tasks, well then you might have a good build.

& Arctic Silver 5 is quite outdated now.

I had the biostar motherboard you recommended (Biostar TZ77XE3) but I would recommend you go with a more expensive Asus one like the P8Z77 V or the P8Z77 V LK. Rep+ for you Tarun

I have a 8320 and it runs very well, everything I throw at it. From video editing to gaming, no lag no problems. I guess its up to personal choice on the CPU..Everything else is perfect!! thumb.gif
