AMD 7950 Overclocking problem

hey guys, this is my first post here, i really hope you can help me out. thanks.

I have an AMD radeon 7950 GPU working with an AMD FX-8150 CPU & 16 Gb of memory. the thing is when i overclock my gpu (actually when i juice up the default suggestions of the new catalyst driver) i cant run games, the games start, then freeze, and after a couple of minutes they crash the desktop. then there's this windows notification that says "your amd driver has stopped working and then recovered" or something to that effect. this problem has happened with all the games i run on my pc (which dont have any problems when theres no overclocking or when im using the default overclocking settings) including:Skyrim, NFS Most Wanted, Fifa 2013, Dead Space 2 and so on.
so what do you guys think is causing the problem? it'd mean a lot if you could help me out. thanks.

1- uninstall using driver sweeper ( select ATI drivers)
2- install drivers again
If this does not work do the process again but go to a later driver and not the newest thumb.gif

I did what you said, still the same problem. the difference is now that ive gone to a later driver, windows doesnt give me a notification saying my driver has stopped working, games still crash to desktop though, thanks anyway.
