fx-8320 or fx-6300 and why? - Page 4

More cores is more cost friendly than more clock speed, in the long run

(PS4 may be clocked low but has eight cores for good efficiency)

You can always blow off efficiency for pure speed, any fx can achieve 5ghz with stable board and cooling

8320.

People forget these aren't "full" cores. If AMD refreshed Thuban instead of going into BD/PD, then I'd say buy an AMD 6 core instead of and AMD 8 core because there's no need for 8 cores right now or in the near future.

But with these CPUs, half the cores are "crippled." Seeing as games that utilize 4 cores aren't exactly rare ... I want a CPU with at least 4 "real" cores.

Plus, it uses more power but is far more efficient than the FX-6300 in terms of power:performance and price:performance
