Ease up man. If I offended you I apologize. My post was meant to be read in a kidding, playful manner, hence the very wide grin to show I wasn't serious. The reason why I said what I said was due to this post from you to me earlier...

I actually prefer SR to GTA nowadays. GTA has gone too serious and taken the fun out of it. GTA1 - VC are, and always will be, the golden GTA games. San Andreas was good but I didn't like it as much as GTA3/VC. And GTA 4.....I personally can't stand it. Spend half an hour driving my retarded cousin to go bowling? Seriously?

Whereas SR3 makes a joke of itself. It doesn't take itself seriously. Its a light-hearted, crude humour filled, over the top, ridiculous game that never takes itself seriously, which is why its so much fun. After all, we play games to have fun, not sim real life. If I wanted to drive my cousin to go bowling, then I would go and drive one of my cousins in RL to go bowling. Why the hell would I want to do that in a video game? All I want in GTA is to run around sniping hookers on the streets and run from the cops. But GTA4 was just too boring to ever engage me. the story missions weren't that great, I HATED that bloody cousin with a passion and wanted to kill him at every available opportunity.

Whereas SR3, I could play that game all day and just run around having fun shooting hookers, hitting randoms with dildos, doing the incredibly hilarious and awesome DLC. SR is so much different to GTA these days that its not a fair comparison. Yes the series started off like GTA, but if we compare the two most recent games in the franchises (GTA4 and SR3), then SR3 undoubtedly has MUCH more character and charisma.

To everyone that quoted me; I didn't mean to say that saints row is just a GTA clone. I thinks its more than that at least the first two games, I just don't like the direction they took with franchise just like metal gear rising. I am gamer that prefers a very compelling and engaging storyline/characters and gameplay. which the first two SR games had. Now don't get me wrong having "the wackiness" can be fun but I don't it should be apart of the main story/ main game play; If it was me I would have the "wackiness" in DLC rather than part of the main game/story. Just my 2 cents, to each his own

It's okay. It's just nice to argue with people about your viewpoints and it not to degenerate into a "troll-war"

I completely agree with you about storyline. I -love- storyline above all else however I feel SR3 is just one of those games you play to relax and have some time off all those cerebral storylines, when I just want to unwind from a hard-days work. SR2 story was.... Fantastic. You got really attached to the character and I wish they'd have carried on but upon hindsight, SR series would've carried on like GTA and Call of duty games. They make them, they sell but I feel like there's no "Life" behind them. For me, GTA is the same stuff You start as a "Low-life" in some form or another and you work your way upto becoming the unofficial Kingpin of the city, rinse-repeat for the next one. Considering there's .... 11 GTA games spread over multiple platforms and 3 SR games, GTA just seems like an old-tired Horse being flogged for money.

Thank you for at least arguing your point in a constructive manner Project319! grouphug.gif

I definitely did not play SR3 for the storyline, though the dialogue made me laugh a lot (like Bl2). I will readily admit that SR2 had a much more captivating and in depth story, but the mechanics were awful IMHO. With SR3, it is a lot smoother. I consider it like going from ME to ME2, where things were better looking and smoother, but things like gameplay and story depth took a step backwards. That said, very few games (Just Cause 2, Borderlands 2, and maybe a couple of others) can succeed in making you feel as badass as SR3 does, especially once you hit 50.

I agree with you. Saints Row: The Third makes SR2 seems a decade apart in terms of smoothness and graphics.

Anyone else totally stoked about the dubstep gun and running up the walls of buildings?
