Need help overclocking

Hi guys,

I overclocked my 3570k to 4.5ghz but for some reason, starting up is much slower. All I changed was the multipliers to 45 each and my memory profile to 1. The rest remained default, including the voltage which was left on Auto. What could be the problem?

4.5ghz without changing the vcore is a no go friend.
What is your motherboard?

But if it's set on auto, won't it configure itself? Gigabyte ga-z77 d3h

what you want to do is (if you havent yet) set the memory profile to xmp mode.

Set your llc and other cpu options to max to  allow more power and control

then go to stock, and offset the vcore down as a start, then 1 by 1 increase the multiplier and increase the vcore by 0.005 every time you try starting up and stability test but its not stable.

For example:

I can go  to 4.2ghz at - 0.005 offset, then i try to go to 4.3ghz, but its not stable. Then you increase to the positive offset, not auto, so you would go to +0.005.

Also make sure your temps are steady

No xD It only works to a certain point.

Here is a guide you should be able to follow with Gigabyte bios pictures.

Thanks for that guide, looks absolutely mental but i'm sure i'll understand it once I have time to go through it. I have a H100i so i'm really looking forward to a high OC

At the moment i'm stable on 4.6ghz @ 1.28v but when I put each core to 47, the overclock struggles even at 1.33v. I want to reach 4.8 seeing as I have an H100i so want to make the most of my potential, but i'm struggling and I don't know why mad.gif
