I don't know how you can say that when a mechanic like Suppression exists, combined with the massively-delayed hit detection.

CS 1.6 had excellent gunplay.
Quake 3 had excellent gunplay.
Crysis:Wars and Crysis 2 had excellent gunplay.
Even Call of Duty has functional gunplay!

What BF3 has is NOT excellent gunplay.

Yes, and as I stated earlier, waves can be seen reflecting on the metal thing in the clip as well...

I completely agree. I am more referencing the pacing of combat, the way the character handles and aims, particularly while moving. I think they nailed the ADS and accuracy. I am imagining it without the client side hit and suppression that I hate.

Ditto, those are the main reasons why I don't play BF3 anymore.... and the fact being that you have to choose a server through your browser. Seriously, who the hell thought that was a good idea?
It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't necessary either.
If they do away with at least 2 of the 3 things I mentioned I will pre-order BF4 and play the hell out of it. biggrin.gif

I agree. The problem is well known and widely apparent.

...and this is the typical response by those who don't know what a good FPS actually is.

While I realize that this is only their opinion...but would the best modern shooter be if not BF3? I personally don't think BF3 holds a candle to a whole slug of shooters that came before it, but if you are one those types that puts a high value on graphics what else would you play?

I am not big on graphics so CS:S is fine for me. For a slower pace shooter I keep going back to BF2142 personally...Dethklok server is still running and normally near full...most of the others seem to be at 75% or less though

if you have so much hate on BF3 or u are hating on BF4 that is not out yet, why do u want me to believe or care about what u say? go back to play your 10years old engine fps what ever it is... and dont post on thread that has BF3 or BF4 as a topic if u trully dont care about it thumb.gif

because even though modern graphics are not everything...they are nice to have. Nothing the early generations of shooters did was that complicated, but for some reason BF3 was not able to deliver many of the same things. I mean I seriously think that the original Unreal Tournament from 1999 had better hit detection and regions for example (though it been a long while since I played it...but I don't remember getting annoyed by this too many times)

BF3 didn't have to re-invent any wheels...it just needed to make the wheels shine more with better graphics and I think every one would have been happy. Is it so bad to want BF4 to take up the slack that BF3 let drop to the ground? Honestly I don't know if they can make the graphics look all that much better than BF3 anyway. What else could they change?

Staying far far away from both EA and Origin.

Simcity debacle and http://www.overclock.net/t/1372839/bbc-10-million-origin-users-vulnerable-to-attack/0_20

Yep BF3 was the last thing I ever purchase from them, nothing against the studios I just want nothing to do with their publisher anymore.
