Yeah, BF3 is a trash Battlefield tittle. It is INCREDIBLY over simplified, and the client side hit detection really pours salt in the wound.

If it was BC3, It would be a good game, because it is pretty decent. It is in NO MEANS A PROPER Battlefield tittle, but a Bad Company tittle.

Consumers got lazy.

Honestly I am really irked that everyone seems to think $60 for a game is acceptable. I spent twice as many hours- had WAAYYYY less frustration and problems with hackers, glitches and bugs playing diablo 2 for 6 years than I've had with BF3- ... CS, BF1942, 2, and 2142 were the same- didn't cost no $60 bucks and were in many ways far better games...

It's just sad that people accept such mediocrity now. I was just playing BF3 20 minutes ago... I see glitches and bugs constantly- stuff that should have been worked out during the beta, but instead has been just accepted as "the way the game is"...

Can't say I'll be buying BF4. If they can prove to me that it won't be an eternal Beta test than that'd be good.... I feel like BF3 has just been a guinea pig...

It's bizarre to me that these games get recycled so quick... growing up it was 5-6 years ... hell id still turn d2 on and have fun :/

If you factor in inflation, games have actually gone down in price over the years.

NES and Genesis games cost like $50 and more...back in 1990s. So 60 is pretty acceptable. You have rose colored glasses.

My first PC was $2500 in 1998. Does that mean its a good price? Does that mean if PC's now are $2300 to build, that price has gone down, and thats acceptable? You're logic is highly flawed.

EA isn't bad, nor is Activision. I don't see a company as bad because they botch a game. Most companies have a game style/type that they do well in. EA does sports very well, extremely well. Fifa 13? While I'm not going to say it is the best, I enjoyed the game very well. All companies have what they do, I just don't like how EA handles shooters. Honestly, I don't like how they handle many games but they do make good games. Same with Activision, though both tend to ruin games from developers they acquire. Trying to put the EA/Activision spin on the title. Issue with that is, the game was not made by them. What made the games good before acquisition, the developers could make the game as they saw fit. Diversity, putting the EA/Activision spin on it just takes away from that lessening the game.

This is why I really enjoy Valve, they better promote the Indie aspect. They also didn't screw over the fans when they acquire a game. TF2, CS, ect.... From what I've seen, they understand that as the larger company their are responsibilities as to keeping the game as it was. So far you haven't seen too many complaints from people that played the games before and after. Granted those are mods, still the majority of the fan base has not been upset.

What I think is even better, you don't see games released by companies like this (Valve, others exist that are less tainted) that come out with so many patch fixes. Heck, the latest COD patch notes were.... Well, you see things like PDW damage fixed. Hell yeah that needed to be fixed, the PDW was darn right dirty. Their was no weapon balance in that game, I don't even think the devs understand competitive weapon balance. After releasing so much crap for so long, I firmly believe they have lost in touch with what made competitive PC gaming fun. Sure they release patches, oodles of patches, to make it more "fair". IMHO, games should be released as solid and fair. You shouldn't see a patch drastically change weapon balance because the balance is that off. Isn't that what Alpha/Testing is for?

Now the COD patch did fix things that you cannot expect. The Zombie glitches, I don't even know how people find map glitches so well.. some are like "***?". The spot in Die Rise, it's out in the open (essentially). What, round restarted and somebody was just standing their like "oh neat". boggles me

Err...SimCity = Maxis. EA is the publisher, not the developer.

BF3 = DICE, a company which is at least grounded in reality.

You have a point. I am only observing that EA is tied to this title as well. And to me, I would have thought EA having something to do with the next big game coming out might bring up some issue's with gamers. I guess I was wrong or am clearly looking at it incorrectly. Thanks for the reply, though. smile.gif

No it's not flawed. A "good" price depends on the relative price of items according to its current and past prices. Prices for games aren't as elastic as other goods. Compared to years ago, the amount of content, replayability, production value, and a number of other factors should mean that the price for games would go up over the years. It did not. In fact, the price has stayed extremely constant compared to the price of almost all other luxury goods. So yes, it's acceptable. I'm not blind, I'm realistic about the cost of goods. Now if you want to talk about the price of food, water, and fuel, then I have a slight problem. Luxury goods like games, small potatoes.
