when is halo 2 coming out on PC, will it work w/ winXP and is it going to be any different than halo1? halo1 on PC was kinda dumb...

Not it wasnt.. Halo 2 was never to be DX10. They would have to completely redo the game, Halo 2 wasnt even DX9. Its Halo 2 with better textures and some other tweaks. I would like to see any proof at all that it was ever intended to be DX10, besides the speculation that it was.

I'm not saying that you're wrong, but the sources I had looked at early on in the H2PC phase all thought that it was going to be DX10. Maybe yours were better informed, but I and my media outlets all thought that H2PC was going to be released with Vista to take advantage of DX10 - like gamespot for example

i wouldn't see why not, but shouldn't you be able to install it on winXP too? i mean its like installing a winxp game on win2k or 98 eh?

Vista is a GROUND up build, so it has different coding for everything. They would have to make 2 versions of the game.

Yes Vista has a Totally different Kernal and Microkernal. It different from all current Operating systems.

you can't put halo 2 vista on Xp because they said it will take advangae of certain "windows live" features... or at least thats what they were saysing a couple of months ago on the bungie site
