What case do you have i can do a check for you and see if you can fit a 170mm cooler in it

My case, and other computer parts, are all listed on the opening post.

I dont think you can fit a True Spirit 140 or Archon SB-E X2 in your case they are too high so you cant close the side panel of your case with either of them that just leave the NH-U12P SE2

Honestly, True 120s, Deepcool GamerStorm, Neptwin are good because they use PWM fans and the Neptwin is damn near silent as with the Assassin as well as a Phanteks TC14PE (90CFM fan without PWM is a terribad idea)
Frankly i'd rather you try a PWM fan and have it spin slowly but quietly then ramp it way up when you use full bore loads. You can tune fan curves too if you'd like in SpeedFan if you've disabled Mobo auto PWM control which on most motherboards are done pretty well after callibration for every new fan you put in.
I say that because my file server uses a freaking 4500rpm fan but is normally just a slight drone not from itself but from the exhaust fans. That fan went down to 500rpm and well biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

I'm going to stick with a 7950, but thanks for the suggestion.

As for the heatsink, I'm still not really sure. There are so many options and a lot of them seem to do the exact same thing. At this point I'd just like something extremely quiet and reasonably priced. It seems that the cooling aspect is all about equally matched.

Yeah, that's what I thought. So the NH U12P SE2 would probably be the best choice as of right now.

In my personal opinion go for a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 if you are still not convinced you can talk to more NH-U12P SE2 owners over at the Nocuta club

Thanks for the link. Also, you would suggest the NH-U12P SE2 over the Noctua D14, correct?

Also, if anybody else has other suggestions that'd be great, I'm still not sure if I'd like this heatsink. Also, the colors of the Noctua models are a little odd to me, they wouldn't really fit to the blue and black colors that make up most of my build. So if there was something similar in a darker color that would be nice.

Lol, I'm not sure. I didn't know before today but I guess that the higher-quality fans are better than that type of water cooling. I bet it's practically the same though.

For your use the D14 would be a little overkill and it might not fit in your case and if it did it would take up pretty much the top half of your case

Last ignore the ugly Noctua colors i said the same thing to myself man i dont like the colors 5 other fans later i went back to the Nocuta fans as all other fans i tried was crap and was nowhere near as good as the Noctua fans

So all in yes they all ugly as hell but they are also some of the best fans out there

Okay, thanks. Do they really not make fans in any other colors?
