Allright, had a long cool update, but OCN effed it up and it disappeared - lost everything.

I'm in a hurry, so I'll let the picture talk for itself (sorry for 12 pixels). Worked on the external HDD drive (will show later), painted the DVD Drive, worked on the acrylic "false floor", broke it mad.gif, got me some aluminum and redid it. Let me know what you think thumb.gif

Edit - eff it's sideways mad.gif haha

Small update.
Sorry it has no visual content. Haven't worked on the build for a quite a while. I still plan on finishing it, and have some small surprises for you guys. In the meantime, I just wanted to post this for future reference:

My OS is installed on a 64GB M4 Crucial SSD. Just before Christmas, I started to have freezes that appeared to be random at first, but I finally nailed it to the infamous 5k hours bug.
Sooooo read about it some more on the interwebs, and downloaded the 0309 firmware.
Burnt the .iso file to a CD, chose the CD drive as bootable drive, and bazinga. A breeze, and problem is fixed. thumb.gif
(this may seem trivial, but I had never done something of the sort before redface.gif )

Well I started to work on this again poke.gif . It may not seem much, but it sure took quite a few hours over the last 2 weeks:
- Clean up the work surface
- Assemble the tools
- Finish cutting the case to integrate the rad
- Finish the bottom/integration of rad
- Apply some cork
- Apply some more cork
- Install of PSU

I am currently working on some acrylic covers for the side of the bays, plus one at the back where I'll mount the pump.
I'll leave you guys with these pichers for now thumb.gif

Here's my latest progress:

+ Made some more acrylic covers

+ How I mounted the pump. Decoupled cover from case with some o-rings, then attached the pump using velcro.
Not sure I like it, but the res and pump don't give much options once I place them so I have the ports where I want/need them...

+ Look at all that filth! biggrin.gif
Otherwise, Mobo still looks good as new. Always liked it's design and look (black PCB FTW thumb.gif)

+ Still working on a back plate and a side cover for the PSU, to hide all those ugly stickers:

Now, I have a question for you guys: would it be possible to "mount" the pipe using rigid tubing? It would be held by a tube going from the side port with the 90 Fitting to the port on the rad at the bottom of the case (see above picture), then a bent tube (90 deg) going from the pump outlet to the CPU block.
+ Would it be strong enough? Pump/res combo is pretty light compared to others out there.
+ Would it cause any leaking because of the stress on the fittings?
+ Would it cause some sort of unwanted stress on the CPU block?

I don't personally think it would be a problem, but since I have never done hard tubing, I figured it would be best to learn from your experiences tongue.gif

Also, admitting I choose that route, am I limited to acrylic tubing, or could I easily get copper piping? I would prefer the latter, but fittings seem to be generally made for 10mm ID/12mm OD tubes, while the standard copper pipe in North America is either smaller or lager than that. Or do other fittings exist that would accommodate our stupid imperial pipes?

TIA!

Well, after over a year, water has finally made its way into my computer applaud.gif
Still working on a few things, and will get the CPU under water during the weekend.

Them pichers:

+ Latest order from Dazmode thumb.gif

+ Preparing to bend acrylic for new pump bracket (yep, those are stairs biggrin.gif )

+ Making a cover for the mobo connectors (I'll let you guess what I made it out of ninja.gif )

+ Failed attempt at copper bending

+ Looking purrdy

+ Finally, in all its glory
