[TPU] Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 Dual-X Pictured, Tested - Page 8

Hopefully someone will bring out a single slot version of this - like XFX did with the 5770 cards .
Would be good for cramped micro ATX and Mini ITX builds - especially if they use the shorter design .

That's why NVIDIA is also releasing the "GTX 650 Ti Boost", with a 192-bit bus.

But Far Cry 3 isn't very sellable at this point; it's about $10-20 on Ebay. It was in the first Never Settle Bundle and the entire bundle can be found for $30-40. Bioshock Infinite is not out yet.

It'll be interesting to see if it cannibalizes GTX 660 sales , especially if they put out a 2GB GTX 650 Ti Boost

There will certainly be 2GB variants of the 650 Ti Boost. Even with the same memory back-end (in terms of size and speed), it would still have only 70-80% of the raw processing power of the 660.

Either way, AMD might be more clever than we give them credit for by discontinuing the 1GB version of the 7850 at about the same time as the 7790's introduction. There won't be nearly as much cannibalization since there won't be much overlap with AMD's surviving low-mid card lineup.

They don't make the card just the GPU. People like my uncle make the Envelope Design PCBs for nVidia and AMD. He actually owns the company that's helps design them.

Sweet little card to be honest. I wouldn't mind running a Trinity APU in an ITX build with ones of these in CF to replace my file servers hardware, and use it as a file server still, while also having the ability to be my backup for slight gaming if need be.

I think the best card you can hybrid crossfire with trinity is a 6670. Kaveri looks like it will maybe crossfire with a 7750. The 7790 is a little to beastly for the igp I think

Would one of these crossfire with 7770 well or would the lesser card nerf it?

No I don't think you couldn't because the GPU silicons are different.

You can CF 7770 & 7750 because they are both Cape Verde Silicon, You can CF 7870 & 7850 because they are both Pitcarin Silicon, but you won't be able to CF 7770 & 7790 because one is Cape Verde(1.5Billion Transistor) the other is Bonaire(2 Billion Transistor). Likewise You also couldn't CF 7870 Tahiti LE & 7870 because one is Tahiti(4.3B Transistor) the other is Pitcairn(2.8Billion Transistor).
