That is the dumbest thing I have read all day.

Sure people defend their chosen hardware vendors emphatically for whatever reason. But saying that people treat them like gods, is just hyperbole, used to try emphasize their disdain. So really, by saying such things, you are lowering yourself to their standards. And you are just contributing to the endless pointless cycle.

Well, that is quite a foolish outlook. But to each their own.

I, and I'm sure many others, use sleep very often. I have it hotkeyed to a button, and if I'm ever away from the computer for an extended period of time I'll put it to sleep. It takes 2 seconds to go into sleep and 2 seconds to come out of sleep (it takes less effort than turning off my monitor, with the added bonus of almost 0 power consumption for the entire system), and I'd absolutely not be willing to put up with restarting applications 5 times a day every day for as long as I own the processor.

For one: It's not the processor at fault. It's the chipset on the motherboards.

And two: How many USB 3 devices do you use daily? If it were my desktop, all of my documents, music, videos etc~ would be stored on the hard drive, and all my files are shared over the network, not USB.

What I don't get is what's the big issue here? I mean i can understand sleep mode for laptops, but for a desktop? Just leave it on 24/7 and there you go. Not like electricity is expensive tbh, and that's not gonna cost you a lot more at the end of the year. Ofc if you live in the middle of the desert in a third world country, then yeah the electricity bill might kill you...

AMD don't make the top of the line performance CPU's for desktops but take a look at their APU's, I don't know how you could hate on those.

The chips? No. The company itself? Oh, hell yes. I didn't have a beef with Intel before that little gem came to light. But now I won't pay for anything made by them if I can avoid it.

2 out of 3 Intel 14nm Fabs(Oregon & Arizona) will be in the US(this was even mentioned during the State of the Union address this year).

It is not like AMD chips are not fabbed at GloFo fabs in Germany & Singapore.

Is it a physical problem with the chip, or something a patch will fix later? I don't currently use USB 3 vs USB 2, so would I be fine getting a chip+mobo in June even if it was bugged?
