Is there a "Best" batch of 6300's?

Thread Starter
I'm going to MC and i think i want to play with a 6300 but the 8320 is only 20 dollars more so i'm still trying to decide.

Edit - 6300 it is. They took away the combo deals on the 8320/8350. How well does the M5A99FX PRO overclock?

I had a pretty good batch, I reached 5.3 (See Sig) with 1.8 in the BIOS, this is normal for this kind of chip. FA 1240PGN is the code

Good luck, also your mobo IIRC, is a 6+2 power phase which is good, and it has reasonable heatsinks so it should OC well with that CPU

m5a99fx is a nice board its a cheaper saber i really enjoy it

my first one died in 5 mins tho just to note but the second one is sick

the bios update with no cpu best feature ever

im going to buy a 6300 myself id love to hear how u overclock with it on that board

as far as overclocking iv pushed my current cpu a good amount over befor it has loads i mean tons of voltage controls and overclock controls if ur uce to the old non eufi bios ... its just wow the amount of tweaking u can do ... it reminds me of my first dfi lanparty board

it has no unlocking feature thus why im buying a 6300

i couldent recoment that board more but do mount a fan on the mof n n/b befor i suck a fan on there u couldent tuch the heatsink it literaly burn u

but really one of the best motherboards iv owned so far ... iv been a gigabyte fanboy forever tell i was recomended this board from a frind

No Idea, 1.8 is way too much on air, even on water. Only LN2 etc goes above 1.6+, I guess I was plain stupid. tongue.gif

I've had the M5A99FX PRO. It's VRM's run extremely hot! You couldn't touch them for more then 5 seconds. That was with a FX-6300 @ 4.6

I run my 6300 at 4.88Ghz on the M5A99FX and my VRM's are not hot at all.thinking.gif

The M5A99FX is a very good board for Overclocking. Used these boards with a 8320 also.

I may have got a bad board then. I hadn't heard bad things about the board but mine would actually burn you lol

Yes, never would I pump 1.8 for more than 5 minutes straight!

It never hurts to put an 80mm fan over the VRms etc
