Setup with EK-D5 X-RES with 250mm res, intake on top or bottom?

Hi,

I have this setup right now:

But soon im switching to a setup with the EK-D5 X-RES CSQ with a EK-RES X3 250mm res.

This will end up sitting above the fan on the bottom rad and up. What Im wondering now is which way I should do the flow. The X3 res says i should only use "5. Port #6 of EK-RES X3 series reservoir should only be used to connect this reservoir with external fill port!" (the top hole). Will it be a problem with acquiring one of these, EK-RES X3 - Multiport TOP and use the top as intake, cause it says "EK-D5 X-RES CSQ (ports to be used as an inlet only)".

If that works, will it work fine to have the flow going: Bottom 240 rad -up-> 680 waterblock -up-> Top 360 rad -down-> CPU -> Top of the reservoir. (with the clock, lol tongue.gif )

Or should i go with the normal setup where i only use the bottom holes on the EK-D5 X-RES and 250 Res and go straight from there to the CPU -> up to top rad -> gpu -> bottom rad ->. The problem with this is i have to do some tricky tubing from the pump to the CPU.

Hopefully this was explained/asked in an understandable way. Thank you for any help!

There is no reason you could not do as you describe but it would be an expensive way.

You could always just get the pump top

a longer tube rather than another whole res if you want to replace both ends anyway

the multi port top

and an acrylic tube to stop splashing
