Here is ASRock customer service in a nutshell

ME=me paraphrased because my emails were really long
ASROCK=Their customer support copied and pasted from gmail

ME "My motherboard died for the second time, I need to RMA again, send me the forms again"

ASROCK "For second RMA our techs do ask for the customers to send components with their motherboard to test them out with the new replacement. Please let me know what components you will sent in."

ME "Am I required to send in components because I bought a new motherboard because I cannot spend around 3 weeks again without a computer"

ASROCK "For 2nd RMA we could provide the return label for your motherboard, I’m only able to provide you the label if you are willing to send the components with that motherboard. The techs want to test the motherboard with your components to make sure they work properly."

ME "Yes or No can I just send in the motherboard by itself or am I required to send in my whole computer for you to RMA a second time"

ASROCK "Im sorry but that is our policy, that you must send back your motherboard for replacement. And then we will send you the replacement motherboard."

Can they do that? That's essentially holding your components hostage. And what if you sent in component which broke on it's way? I can't help but feel such policies are setup to discourage consumers, which is, very. tricky. indeed.

I had to import this piece of hardware, it's nowhere to be found in New Zealand. That'd explain at least the NZ part of the world. It is priced between Gigabyte and Asus's Z77 ITX offerings, and most would just take the plunge if they have the dough, or settle with Gigabyte.. (whom I'm not entirely a fan of!)

I'm still shopping for CPU cooler, so far only found AXP-100 that'd fit without blocking PCI-E slot...

I was thinking about that earlier and that is what I thought, they put these stupid rules in to make someone just want to give up. I don't think the person knows english well at all, as I said, the first rma was even more painful. I can only have so much patience for this until I just end up being a complete jerk to this person.

Welcome to OCN btw! biggrin.gifthumb.gif

I don't know whether to laugh or cry headscratch.gif

The contradiction is strong with this one.

This is WORD FOR WORD the last email I received, this was NOT 2 emails spliced together...

"Yes for second RMA you are required to send the components like cpu, processor, and memory. And the techs will test them out with the replacement board to make sure its all working properly. You don’t have to send them in but it’s a suggestion to assure you that you will get everything working smoothly."

I would hate to have to send in my cpu AND processor, oh noes!

Asrocks rma process and team are a joke.

At least thermaltakes customer support people were awesome, the person I talked to was clearly an enthusiast and could help me out. This person on the other hand obviously doesn't know english, or anything about computers.

I keep having this idea where a big enough reservoir of tank would eliminate the need for fans on the rad.
like a huge tank on top, and just use gravity to push the water down, and let the warm water rise...

too bad I'm no plumber.. isn't there 3M water that isn't conductive? Perhaps use those tongue.gif

HEP1000, Asrock z77e-itx was on my list for a while, till I found out about it's voltage issues. Now this, doesn't look very enticing at all now!

Wait.. so you're saying this board supports the limited overclock? +4 bins on the Turbo Boost?
Yep biggrin.gif

I am going to try the 105 BCLK to reach the 4.2 Ghz. I was able to set 105.9 BCLK on the the GB h77 without any issue so I hope this on the MSI as well. Unfortunately the Gigabyte H77n only reached 3.8 in all cores.

4.2 Ghz here we gooo!!!
