BenQ Monitor...which one to buy?

Hey there,

Looking to buy a new monitor and have narrowed it down to two BenQ models - RL2450HT ($200) or GL2450HM ($210). I know that the HT has a better stand and additional functions specifically geared for gaming but my question is picture quality. They seem to have the same specs but is one better then the other when it comes to graphics display? My rig it geared toward gaming and i play mostly first person shooters while web browsing is secondary, but for no critical use such as photoshop. My max budget is $250 so if you know of a better gaming monitor within budget please make suggestions. Other monitors i considered: Asus VS248H-P ($180 w/rebate), ViewSonic VX2460H ($200)

Thanks
My Rig

I've just heard really good things about the XL2420T and it's what they use at MLG events. I would assume that along with being really good for games, the quality must be superb too for using it at a major event.

I had the same dillema and chose the XL2420's. I have three of them in eyefinity and am very happy with them.

I use the predecessor to the XL2420T, the XL2410T and both, imo, are really great 120hz monitors. I don't think you can grab an XL2410T anymore (just a little rare, not in production) but the XL2420T is a really great monitor. Go with that if you have the budget; 120hz is too good to pass up, even if you don't use 3D.

The 27" version is coming out soon. If you are only looking for 1080p id get that. XL2710T I believe is the model.

Is this real life? I was about to buy the Dell U2713HM but I would gladly buy an XL model 27 inch BenQ instead (and I would assume cheaper too). Got a link on the news/pricing/release date?

This thing looks amazing. I'm buying it as soon as it hits Canada.

This purchase will be my first 1080p monitor so i want to stay with a 24" panel until i upgrade in 2-3 years to a 27", 1440p / 120hz model. It's looking like for now that the Benq will be my choice but i'm still not sure which one would provide better performance/image quality for first person shooters, RL2450HT or GL2450HM. The RL model essentially has the same specs as the XL2420T with exception of 120hz, 3D ready and increased brightness but my budget won't allow me to buy the XL at this time. So if anyone knows which monitor would be best for fps gaming, RL versus GL, please let me know.

Thanks

RL is designed for RTS. XL is designed for FPS. GL is the generic line for everyday use.
Take your pick.

It's the XL2720T. I should have one for review in the next few weeks.
