We all had to start at some time, so no worries there. With computers, technology never stops. Trouble is my pockets cannot keep up with it all redface.gif

unless 3dmark doesn't report it, his 680's aren't even OC'd

It looks like you have all 3 cards at 1250mhz. Are those under water? That's pretty nice

you could have pushed the 680s more.

The 7970 and 680 trade blows and are close to equals.

The 7970 Ghz wins the majority of battles vs the 680 although not all of them.

The 7970s tend to overclock better than the 680s but you do need one with a better cooler for lower temps and noise.

If you're thinking about going SLi/CF in the future, then I'd suggest 680. Even with the new driver, CF setup still experience more stuttering than SLi. Many tech sites have proved this. A quick google and you'll know what I'm talking about.

As noted the 7970 and the 680 and pretty much on equal ground. At 1080 resolution the 680 stays very close and even passes however at higher resolutions the 7970 can flex it's memory bandwidth muscle and take a solid lead. Considering that the 7970 can typically be gotten at a lower cost the decision is fairly simple, save the money and keep the performance.

Kepler doesn't show actual core clocks.

That's not that high of a tri cfx score. I can score 20K with two 7970s. Look below for more. My core clocks below are 1370. Menthol runs around 1550 core on his 680s. Ya think there's a clock advantage for one over the other? Look at all them Titans lol.
