the current versions of gigabyte HD 7950 cards come with 1 ghz boost clocks and locked voltage. 1100 mhz should be easy to achieve. though you need to decide whether the lack of voltage control is ok. . also as far as performance goes the HD 7950 is 3 - 6% slower than HD 7970 at same clocks. with a HD 7950 at 1150 mhz you would be matching HD 7970 at 1100 mhz and GTX 670 (1250 mhz). the HD 7950 boost is a GTX 670 competitor. easily better than GTX 660 Ti.

I probably won't be overclocking this card, at least not to the extent that I'd need voltage control.

A quick Google Test revealed a few hits for Gigabyte/Sapphire Customer Service Nightmare and a fair few more for ASUS so I'm definitely going for either the Gb or Sapphire. I'm leaning more towards the Gigabyte because of the Windforce cooler.
