65nm official!

Thread Starter
the new 65nm processors was officially announced yesterday by amd. they're the same processor type as the core 2 duo so i guess they're supposed to compete.

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Corporate/V...114609,00.html

they're supposed to completely replace the 90nm processors by mid 07 with still keeping the socket am2

I've been waiting for them to start being produced to upgrade :] hopefully a 4800+ and the asus crosshair with corsair pc 6400 and an 8800gts all on a 610w PC P&C silencer

so far i've got the psu, a g5, and the case...lol o well can't wait :]

The performance really hasn't increased, the power consumption however has went down dramatically. Core 2 Duo is still going to woop AMD but I bet these 65nm's will OC a lot and stay fairly cool.

I didn't know they were coming out that soon.

Build for Winter 07? It's on...

i'm going to bet that the 4000+ is going to be the processor to pick for overclockers. if these things overclock like intel's 65nm, then its going to be sweet.

and its not a replacement of the core AMD uses. its just a die shrink......

im getting the 4800+

im sure they'll bring out more than just the 5000 4800 4400 and 4000
