Will the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2 fit in the Fractal R3?

Hi guys,

I just purchased the dark rock pro 2 and I'm a little worried that it may not fit inside my Fractal R3 case with my windowed side panel on. I know the dark rock pro 2 is taller than most coolers. Does anyone know if it fits? I tried searching on google and haven't found any concrete results. Thanks for your help!

R3 spec is 165mm and Dark Rock Pro 2 is 166mm. My guess is it will but may touch the side window. If it does couch window put a small piece of tape on the top of the pipes that touch so they don't scratch the window. wink.gif

Have Phanteks PH-TC14PE in my R2 and it just fits. Cooler measures 163mm and fans set up another 3-4mm.

Was same with Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme.. Just fits. Cooler measures 164mm and fans set up another 2-3mm.

Thanks for the reply guys! I'm gonna give it a try! thumb.gif

Was watching tastyPC's review of the cooler and she said that it barely fit. I hope the windowed side panel doesn't add more depth than the none windowed one.

Hey guys, sorry for not posting my update in a long time, but here it is! I can confirm that the Dark Rock Pro 2 does fit with both the windowless and windowed side panel for the Fractal Design R3. It is a very close fit, but you should have no problems installing the cooler in the case.

I would also recommend getting this cooler. It is extremely quiet (close to inaudible), cools like a beast and in my opinion looks better than the other Noctua and Thermalright solutions.
