The BORB (Budget all round build) Sub £800 beast!

Thread Starter
my name is Sam, I'm 16 years old and have always had a love for computers.
in October 2012, my main PC which I had had for 3 and a half years started to run into into troubles, It was a great machine and meant a lot to me which was mostly to do with the way I got it (parents jokingly suggested that If I got a scholarship to this private school they would buy me one.. and I did tongue.gif ) anyways the computer ended up dieing in December 2012 and I began to think about a solution, I originally planned £400 build and planned to build it in January, but as the months went on and I saved up more money I ended up settling on a £800ish build and decided mid march was the time to build.

Aaaaanyways, enough with the jibber jabber about my old pc and lets talk about the new one!
I wanted this pc to be able to edit videos for my youtube channel, do after effects work and more importantly game as well as being able to utalize the 3 monitors I had ended up collecting off my family members desktop computers.
So the final specs were:
Motherboard: Asus P8z77-V LK
PSU: Corsair Gamer series GS-600W
Processor: Core i5-3570k
Case: Gigabyte GZ-G3
Graphics: XFX Radeon 7950 Sapphire Vapor-X 7950
SSD: Samsung 128GB
HDD: from my old machine
RAM: Corsair XMS3 16gb

PS: This is my first build so help me out by leaving me some tips!

So now that's over with, PICCIES!

what I've ben using as a desktop for the past few months... frown.gif

Processor, motherboard and PSU arrive!

mmmm juicy wink.gif

The Case arrives!

psu installed

Processor finally installed, ngl This being my first build and all, Pusing the bar down to secure the Processor was the scariest **** ever.

A little cable management (:

Thats all for now, will update the thread as more parts arrive!

nicely done smile.gif
As a fellow student myself, I exactly know how tight the budget is.
Nice components, especially for £800 total

I know exactly what you mean, I was very scared pushing that bar down when I built my first rig just over a year ago ("My Gaming Rig" in sig); it made like a slight crunching sound too, which made it particularly scary.

Nice build btw thumb.gif

Very nice build and very well priced too, if you are planning on overclocking you should consider getting a CPU cooler such as the CM Hyper 212 EVO for 30£. Post more pictures of the final cable management, please thumb.gif

EDIT: Wow, while I was thinking of a reply everyone posted and everyone used the thumb. I need to be faster.
