Okay, most guys make the mistake of thinking that thicker rads are better. In reality, it's not the rad that cools, it's the air that goes throught it. So if you intend to keep your fans below 1200 rpm most of the time, keep in mind that slow fans have a hard time pushing air throught the thicker rads.
So instead of going with thicker rads,I would advise to actually use thinner rads with push/pull fans. That is fans on both sides.
Just have a look
here and notice how the Alphacool ST30 actually slightly outperforms the twice as thick UT60 below
1200 900 rpm. If the ST30 had push/pull fans, it would kick it's big brother's butt even more.
So go as thick as possible, but make sure you have room for push/pull on your rad. If you don't have room, just go down in rad thickness until you can fit push/pull.
But that UT is a great rad, I own 4 of them myself. It's the king of the hill at virtually all speeds except below 1200 rpm, and even then, it still stays amongst the top performers.
And don't over estimate the benefits of getting fresh air to all your rads. Too many guys are recycling one rad's air into an other.
