You spend all that amount of money on expensive hardware and you cannot justify to purchase a higher stick ram? hmm, seems legit

Just get a good 1600/1866 set and be done with it smile.gif

And there is a perfectly good reason to go with 1333Mhz on X79; extremely high density. It's the cheapest route to get 64Gb of non-ECC for consumer boards. Apart from that, the raw difference between 1600 and 2400Mhz comes down to a few extra Gb/s (I never know if I'm typing that correctly...). You can find lower speed sticks with tighter timings (CAS 9, 8, etc) as well, so you could just trade timings for transfer speed and overclock them to 1600+ at a less strict timing (10, 11). It won't degrade performance as much as you'd think.

Don't get so stressed over RAM. And no, even if you got 3Ghz sticks, they would run fine at any speed below that. It would just be a huge waste of money. So get the best 1600/1866 you can find, and save a lot of dough over 2,400. Just my thoughts thumb.gif

Whoops, there is no 2,500Mhz tongue.gif
