Help with decision on GTX670 - Page 2

MSI GTX 670 PE is a good card, mine can do 1300 on bench and 1293 Mhz on games (can't do more because of power limit)...the card is quiet though...unless you set your fan curve into >75%...the card is still quiet...64-65 C on gaming @overclocked @31 Ambient temperature and 70% fan curve.

But seriously, it's all about personal preferences and experience. Just grab whichever you like/cheapest.

As much as I hate to say it, if customer support is important to you pass on ASUS - they have gone completely down hill in that dept.
The MSI, Gigabyte or EVGA will be good, depending on what you want - if getting water blocks or a SLI setup are in your plans then I'd go with the FTWs since they have blower-style coolers + 680 PCBs.

all (listed above) have 680 PCB's except for the MSi PE as it has a custom PCB...

Thanks everyone, some really good points made. I find it interesting that there wasn't much defense of the the Asus, too bad as its a sexy looking card with the
heat pipes and all. But I'm taking it back and ordering the MSI. I believe this is the right one.

Is that a modified 680 PCB?

MSI GTX 670 PE is uses a completely custom PCB instead of 680 PCB.

I don't think there is a reason to return your asus card since there is nothing wrong with it... I bought the standard version and have overclocked it to 1254cc and 3580mc. The card is super quiet and super cool (not exceeding 61C under load overclocked) I don't think changing to a different brand card will give u any change to yout performance or anything else... As for reliability I am using asus products since 2006 and never had a single problem with them.

Here is some info that may be helpful to you, it is a bit extreme, but it is true. One of my 670 ftws barely likes to oc, it only goes into the 1240s on the core. The other one that I have goes into the 1350s on the core. Neither are bios modded. This shows you how much luck is involved in getting a good card. My first 670 went to 1293 out of the box no problem, but then i messed it up trying to do a physical mod to it after I had been drinking, yes I was stupid I know. The ftws are great cards though. Two of em in SLI can max out crysis 3 at 1200p at very playable fps. I like the blower style fans as they remove the heat away from the cards out the back of the case instead of recycling it inside of the case. Just remember, you may get a golden card, and then again you may not. it's all luck of the draw and you can't base a company upon what you get.

Forgot to mention.. Don't forget to get Reference PCB Card if you plan to do a full GPU Block latter on. but if you not plan for water cooling your card options are fine..
