Clicking Harddrive..?

Thread Starter
I have a Lenovo Y580 Ideapad, and it's about 7 months old. Recently I've been having a problem, where, upon attempting to start the computer up from either a shut down or a hibernate, the harddrive will start clicking, and then a message comes up saying something along the lines of no harddisk detected. Usually, after starting up, turning off, and repeating that process 15 or so times, there'll be no clicking, it boots up, and everything runs fine; no missing files or anything. I've already placed an order for another Harddrive, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to save the drive, or at least make the problem less common?

Thanks, all!

Save everything you want to keep and buy a new hard drive. Clicking hard drive = death rattle. Switch to an SSD if you can. Those Y580's are still great machines.
