The Brackets say best of 3 but here it says "Top 16 teams will be invited to the Single Elimination bracket (Quarter-Finals March 29th, Semi-Finals and Finals March 30th)." Can we please find out which one is correct. Thank you.

Seeds were done randomly as groups were of uneven sizes. Binary Beast uses points to determine seeding order so this created an imbalance of points across groups with fewer members (Group D) and gave a heavy favoritism towards groups which had a large number of dropouts (Groups B and C)

Single Elimination is the bracket format. Best of 3 means that you play 3 matches to determine the winner of a matchup, meaning that if you win 2 out of 3 matches you progress. You can read more about how single elimination tournaments work here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-elimination_tournament

Single elimination only means that if you lose to a team, you are out of the tournament. The way I interpret is that we still play a best of three, and the loser is out for good.

I'm re-posting the email I just sent out to all the Round of 16 teams just in case somebody doesn't receive it:

This is RikkAndrsn, your head administrator for the Overclock.net March League of Legends Challenge. If you’re receiving this email it means your team has made it to the Round of 16. Congratulations on progressing to the group stage!
Our Binary Beast page will now show you your matchups for the next stage: http://binarybeast.com/xLoL1303167#brackets

To keep things short and sweet I’ll explain our schedule first:

Firstly, please have all your players in the Overclock.net chat channel on League of Legends during your match times. We will use this as a form of official communication.

The Round of 16 will be broken up into 3 starting time slots in order to fit with our stream. The start times are set as 6 PM, 9 PM, and 12 AM (all Eastern Time). Your team and your opponent must decide on a time slot to pick. We’ll be limiting 3 match ups to each time slot as a maximum.

For the Quarterfinals through to the Grand Finals the start times are 12 PM, 3 PM, 6 PM, 9 PM, and 12 AM. 12 PM and 3 PM will be starting times for our Quarterfinals matches. Your team and your opponent’s team can register for a Quarterfinals time slot immediately after you know who you’re facing. 6 PM will be a starting time for one of the Semi Finals matchups, 9 PM will be the start time for the 3rd and 4th place matchup, and 12 AM is the start time for the Grand Finals.

Obviously, these are rough time estimates as we don’t expect the tournament to fully occupy these times. On Saturday we will be starting the next stage as soon as we possibly can to prevent dead time on the stream.

If your team and your opponent’s team would like to be featured on our stream please contact me directly via either the Overclock.net PMs, the League client (my summoner name is RikkAndrsn), or by responding to this email.

Make a post in the match reporting thread or PM me to sign up for a time slot.

Here is the time slot listing so you know which times are still available: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au3HV4xgxbkFdDNoNkJsTjg3SXRpTmNmaHdMaG8wNFE&usp=sharing

Also, we will be allowing the use of two substitutes to make sure all teams are able to meet the tournament’s schedule (ALL TEAMS MUST COMPLETE THIS FORM).

Have your Team Captain complete this form to register your substitutes and finalized roster: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?fromEmail=true&formkey=dDJuUFR3S3hIU0VrdklId2xJb2s0Tmc6MQ
The submissions from the form will be used as our final master roster and can be accessed here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au3HV4xgxbkFdDJuUFR3S3hIU0VrdklId2xJb2s0Tmc&usp=sharing

Thanks again to all our teams,
Richard “RikkAndrsn” Jandris

Contact me with any problems, I will be available all day tomorrow on Overclock.net, the League client in channel Overclock.net, and by email.

Also, with regards to which team will get Blue the team on top gets to start the first match of the best of 3 as Blue. The loser of that match then gets Blue for the 2nd of the best of 3. If necessary, the loser of that 2nd match then gets Blue again for the final matchup.

You should not be seeding based on total bracket points, you should be seeding off of relative placement in the group stage.

1st round would be like:
A1 vs C4, A2 vs C3, C1 vs A4, C2 vs A3.. and then the same thing with groups B and D. It doesnt make sense to make the last 3-4 games played by each team totally worthless.

Point is, we worked hard, got first in our group, and then get randomly seeded first round against the best team in the tournament.... if that's not imbalanced then I don't know what the word means. I know I sound like I'm whining or am entitled or something in this post (and my team would be a lot nicer than me if they were posting this)...just my 2cents.gif..

We waited in the custom lobby for 33 total minutes and nobody came online and nobody PM'd me through OCN.
If they were having trouble logging into League(as there is a 20 minute queue) we waited more than long enough to allow them to do so.
They should have let us know if they were unable to battle today. I believe this is a legit and complete victory.

What do you mean we never made a time? It is always the standard time unless we agree otherwise (which we didn't). We were all online from 7PM to 11PM EST and you guys never showed up. Can't keep waiting forever.
