IPC gains seem to be what was promised, the standard 5-15%. I'd wait to see the reviews that do some overclock testing. Hopefully Intel isn't using the same TIM as they did with Ivy bridge CPU's.

If it doesn't get as hot as Ivy Bridge, that alone is enough to "upgrade" for me.

ivy is not worth it over sandy and its only a cpu upgrade now haswell you have to buy a new board (1150) so those 10% performance gain come at higher price tag board + cpu for me 400$ for just 10% more performance (over ivy) is not a good deal. For users with a C2D / Quad or AMD its something to consider

it should be worth it for me haha. my cpu is almost a museum piece.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4770k-haswell-performance,3461.html --- theres a preview of the performance and in the programs they tested it with on average the i7 4770K is 7-13% faster than the i7 3770K. Guess thats what we all expected. We have to wait for some game tests tho thats what we all care about after all, aint it?

if i dont see 5.2Ghz-5.5ghz on Haswell, ill sit this year out and wait till the next.
The guy who wrote the preview didnt OC it "because that’s no way to treat a borrowed CPU" so we have to wait.

The IPC gains are within the general expectation, but he left out a lot of important information. Hopefully we will see a more formal review here shortly.
