HIS 7970 Help

Thread Starter
Hello,

I recently bought a HIS 7970 Reference card and installed an Arctic Cooling Xtreme 7970 on.
When I took the reference cooler off, I noticed a line of capacitors were not there unlike other cards which do have them

These are the one I am talking about :

After I installed the cooler on it and plugged it in, I attempted to overclock it. Whenever I tried to overclock it, I would get a splitting artifact on my screen. Even a couple Mhz would cause this to happen.

Edit: Stock clocks are 975/1375

So I am wondering, did I get a dodgy card or something like that & what should I do?

Thanks

It's actually not a reference card, they used the reference cooler - but that's a custom PCB.
