Bought an iPad mini and I'm pretty impressed

Was at Walmart yesterday and they had a nexus 7 and an iPad mini setup next to each other. I totally expected myself to love the n7 more but in fact it was the iPad which I fell in love with. As much as I hate apple as a sue happy company this is a pretty amazing tablet

Yet still massively overpriced and locked down so you can't actually do anything with it.

Can you jailbreak it? Even if I can't I only will really need it for web browsing while on the throne thumb.gif

Yeah you can, but it's not really worth it, they are £350 over here which is just stupid money for a 7" tablet, I got my g/f one for £200 which is pretty awesome and it's 11" and was on sale.

I looked at the 10" tablets and I didn't need something that big. While I agree the mini is overpriced its not that bad

Congrats OP on the new iPad Mini. I'm interested to see what the next version of the mini will be.

I have an iPhone 5 (owned a 3G, then 4 prior to the 5), an iPad 1st Gen and iPad 2nd Gen (no mini editions). I use strictly Windows on my desktop/laptops and do not like using Macs at all. With that said, I love my iPhone and iPads.

I've thought about switching to Android products, but I have apps already purchased on the Apple App Store (maybe 30-40 bucks tops) that I don't want to re-buy on Android Marketplace. With that being said, I have zero problems at all with my iPhone or iPads. My daughter loves the iPad (our first gen one is pretty much hers, she is 4 years old). She as learned a ton on it, from many complex shapes, to numbers, learning simple math now, and starting to learn how to spell 3 letter words now. I love when people say you can't do anything on any iDevice because it's so locked down.

If it's so locked down, jailbreak it. I did that with my iPhone 3G and 4, but don't feel anymore need to do so on the iPhone 5 or either iPad. To you it may seem that is is locked down (for what reason, I have no idea) and you can't do anything on it (again, what can't you do on it that can't be done with or without a jailbreak?), but to myself, and clearly other people, it is a great device that completely meets/exceeds our expectations on what a tablet/phone should do for us.

You bought an iPad? Get out.

I kid, I kid, but seriously, there's the door:
