[Build Log] Case Lab M8 WC Pipe >>Update lots of Images<<

So I finally have the chance to complete a computer build!

First off I would like to thank OCN and the members here for I have gained massive amounts of knowledge for this build to happen. So I'm here to share my experience on the journey I'm about to take that many before me have taken. thumb.gif

Just so everyone can understand the reasons I purchase the items I do. I'm looking to use this computer as an gaming rig, but I will also be running multiple VMware Servers on this computer also. I also plan to straight Pipe my build thanks to the informative guide Pipe Bending 101 by B Negative.

Any thoughts on what I would be best on ordering on CPU Block, Card Blocks/Back Plates, Pump/s, Reservoir. I am all ears. thumbsupsmiley.png

These are some of the parts that I will be looking to order tonight/tomorrow unless there is a reason I should change them.

EDIT: Updated Order List 1

Edit: Ordered Correct CPU Cooler 03/20/13

I'm still iffy on the motherboard as this time I was able to acquire more funds all of sudden that allows me to upgrade to a little bit better motherboard for my purposes so I'm looking at the ASUS x79 Sabertooth.

And I know everyone is probably wondering by now what case will be used for these pieces of eye candy. Well I have that one covered already. biggrin.gif

My case will be arriving on Tuesday and I'm needing to order all my parts by tomorrow afternoon to make sure they are all here on Tuesday also so any alterations will need to be made sooner than later preferably. thumb.gif

PRON UPDATE

band.gif

Ignore the date on the pictures I know its wrong. I am not using my camera. redface.gif

So I immediately came home yesterday after work and I am greeted by three shipping boxes. biggrin.gif

Initial thought are school what is school I have a machine to build!!! But alas I held out from the impulse to miss class last night. I still believe I made the wrong decision there... rolleyes.gif

However back to the CASE PRON!

So when you have three boxes to open which do you open first the small ones or the big one first. thinking.gif

Well I decided to start with the big one first since I've always loved the Case Labs Cases.

I have to admit I have read many build logs with Case Lab cases stating the packaging is superb for these chassis. I would have to agree wholeheartedly that the packaging is superb. The next pron will I give is the M8 Chassis out of its shipping box which was suspended in the middle by four wrap around corner pieces of dense blue foam. Now I have seen packaging of a lot of expensive equipment before and I must say the packaging that Case Lab does takes the whole cake. See the plastic used to wrap the case its so thick its not even funny your not going to be getting through that plastic by no means easily with out a very sharp knife. I would estimate the plastic to be at least 3-4 mil thick if not 5 mil.

And the M8 unsheathed.

Front View

These next pictures are taken inside after I came home from school last night. 03/19/2013

Here is what the packaging of the inside looks like. Talk about not allowing anything to move.

Inside of the case with out the packing paper.

And here are all the extra parts you get with the M8. This picture does include some of the parts used for installation of the grounds on the motherboard removal tray. biggrin.gif

Okay so now some HARDWARE PRON

Hardware displayed on top of the case.

Noctua NH-D14 SE2011

This heat sink no lie is massive and is well worth the money you spend on it. I mean it covers almost the entire board!!! lmaosmiley.gif

Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition

The Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition fans are not to bad they are quite, but being practically deaf makes them almost silent. rolleyes.gif I think I prefer the high performance though on my fans just for the higher out put.
